Rescue teams have just found the body of Miss Tourism Myanmar 2018, Sili Mee, under the rubble of an apartment building in Mandalay city (Myanmar) after the recent earthquake disaster.

Rescue teams have reported that they found the body of the young woman wearing a white shirt and still holding her wallet, under the rubble of the Sky Villa apartment complex in Mandalay city (Myanmar) on April 2.
Through the identification process, it was confirmed that the woman was Sili Mee, the beauty queen who held the title of Miss Tourism Myanmar 2018.
The 28-year-old had graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Meiktila University (Myanmar). She represented Myanmar in the 2018 Miss Tourism World pageant and the 2019 Miss Tourism World Intercontinental competition.


After her beauty pageant career, Sili Mee entered the entertainment industry and became an active volunteer. She was well-loved by her colleagues.
On April 3, Blessed Entertainment, the organizer of Miss Tourism Myanmar, confirmed the news and sent their condolences to Sili Mee’s family. Her funeral will be held in Yangon (Myanmar).

According to international media, the epicenter of the 7.7 magnitude earthquake on March 28 was near Mandalay, Myanmar’s second-largest city. The earthquake caused the collapse of thousands of buildings, damaged roads, and destroyed bridges in several areas.
The Myanmar government reported that the death toll from the earthquake had risen to more than 3,000 people. In a brief statement, the government confirmed that 4,715 people were injured, and 341 were still missing as of April 3.

In Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, where the earthquake caused a skyscraper under construction to collapse, search efforts for survivors and bodies are still ongoing. Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt reported that sounds suspected to be signs of life were detected amid the rubble.
As of now, 22 people have died and 35 have been injured in Thailand, mostly due to the collapse of the under-construction building.
